FKIP – The Student-Entrepreneurship Creativity Program (PKM-K) Team of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta proposed the idea of ​​a serial T-shirt for Indonesian endemic animal comics based on character smart cards successfully passed the PKM incentive of the Ministry of Education, Culture , Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for the 2021 fiscal year.

Under the guidance of Endri Sintiana Murni, S.Pd., M.Pd., as a lecturer in Fine Arts Education, Sony Baroo Amirulloh from the Fine Arts Education Study Program, Siti Fatimah from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Azzahra Nurhidayati Ni’mah from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, and Ersa Arifiyanti from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, said that the background of their idea was anxiety about the criminal act of buying and selling rare endemic animals that are threatened with extinction.

“Indonesia is a country rich in biodiversity, one of which is endemic animals. Its uniqueness and uniqueness is the main attraction. However, this also provokes the illegal actions of irresponsible individuals who trade and buy endangered animals that threaten their extinction,” Sony explained.

As a team from FKIP, Sony and three of its members were inspired to make endemic animals as objects of character education for children as well as provide knowledge about one of Indonesia’s wealth, namely endemic animals. This idea also supports digital literacy by utilizing technological advances and realizing student creative efforts. From the ideas that have been proposed, Sony and the team have packaged the ideas into quality comic t-shirts and character smart cards for character education comics and endemic animal education that can be accessed through gadgets.

“There are two outputs, namely quality comic t-shirts and character smart cards, character education comics and endemic animal education that can be accessed through gadgets,” said Sony.


With this product, Sony and the team attract children from Kindergarten (TK) to Elementary School (SD) as marketing targets.

“Our product marketing targets start from kindergarten to elementary school children with marketing through parents,” said Sony.

Sony also conveyed the benefits of the products produced, namely helping children, parents, teachers, and the government in an effort to instill character education and provide knowledge to children about endemic animals through fun media.

“The benefits are helping children, parents, teachers, and the government in an effort to instill character education and knowledge in children about Indonesia’s wealth. Especially endemic animals through fun media,” said Sony.
