FKIP – The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a public lecture with the topic “Let’s Move: Small Steps Ahead to Be Amazing You” via Zoom Cloud Meeting and broadcast live directly on the Youtube channel of the Biology Education (Biosphere) Study Program Student Association (HMP) on Saturday (28/8/2021).
The event started with the opening and remarks from Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP UNS. In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana hopes that this event can provide enlightenment to students.
“There needs to be precise information on how to study abroad. Therefore, we present two speakers in the hope of providing enlightenment, experience to students on how to study abroad,” said Dr. Mardiyana.
The activity continued with remarks by Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si. as Head of Biology Education Study Program. Dr. Muzzazinah said that everyone needed tips and tricks to be able to continue their studies abroad. Therefore, Biology Education Study Program presented two speakers to carry out joint discussions.
“The dream of studying abroad cannot be obtained instantly. Need tips and tricks to achieve these goals. Therefore, we invite these two speakers, so that they can be invited to discuss together,” said Dr. Muzzazinah.
The first speaker, Darius Rupa, S.Pd. M.Si. delivered a material entitled “Want Free Tuition? Apply Commitment”. Darius begins the material by stating his life goals.
“I made living targets in the form of cells. I liken my life to the nucleus. My life must have capacity. The foundation is strong commitment and prayer. To achieve the target, there must be hard work, time control, moving forward, and confidence to achieve the desired result,” said Darius.
Darius conveyed various types of scholarships that general lecture participants could try.
“If you already have a target to go to college, then the next step is to look for scholarships. Starting from the requirements, the opening date of the scholarship, and other important things.” Darius said.
The second speaker, Yasir Sidiq, S.Pd., M.Sc. delivered the material with the topic “Study Abroad Experiences and Organizational Skill”. Yasir started the discussion with information on study opportunities in Japan.
“Some of the opportunities that can be tried to study in Japan include scholarship opportunities such as LPDP, MEXT, DDP, and others. You can also take part in the Japan-Indonesia U to U scheme, student exchanges, and tuition waivers for international students,” Yasir explained. In the next material, Yasir shared his personal academic and organizational experiences while studying in Japan.
