FKIP – Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held Economic Education Fun Sharing (Ecotouring) with the theme “Together with Alumni, Sharing Inspiration” through Zoom Cloud Meeting on Saturday (4/9/2021).

Moderated by Arey Dela Viesta as the 2021 Economic Education Ambassador, this event presented two speakers. First, Rafi Harseno, S.Pd. as UNS Economic Education Alumni and Mandiri Tunas Finance Supervisor. Second, Lita Dwi Pangesti, S.Pd. as Alumni of UNS Economics Education and Economics Teacher of SMA N 1 Gondang, Sragen.

The event was officially opened by Dr. Sudarno, S.Pd., M.Pd. as Head of Economic Education Study Program (Kaprodi).

“Because our alumni work in various fields, this gives enthusiasm and motivation to active students of economic education,” said Sudarno in his speech.

The event continued with a material presentation by Lita Dwi Pangesti, S.Pd. who share experiences of being a teacher with the status of a State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

“This is a motivation for you. I, who come from an underprivileged family, can do it, especially those of you who are well off. Don’t let relationships and privileges become obstacles to trying things that are thought to be impossible,” explained Lita.

Lita also shared tips on passing the ASN selection.

“The tips are to make a special study schedule, multiply tryouts and record the progress of scores, learn from various sources, follow the development of information, ask for parents’ blessings, increase alms, improve the quality of worship, try to the maximum, and trust,” said Lita.

Lita’s presentation ended with a closing statement and a question-and-answer session.

“Don’t make a teacher a tool to make money and increase wealth. Intend it as a charity, providing useful knowledge. Work must be sincere and with integrity. If you become a civil servant teacher, serve the community with all your heart because you are paid from public money. Be a teacher who motivates and inspires students. If you educate sincerely, then there will be prayers flowing from your students,” concluded Lita.

The second presentation, Rafi Harseno, S.Pd. which describes material about post-campus life outside the field of education. He recounted his experience taking the test to become a Mandiri Tunas Finance Supervisor.

“After graduating, I apply all job vacancies for two months. Maybe there are 100 places I apply, until one day I get an e-mail for an interview in Jogja. I took the test not only once and I always gave up every test. But because of the prayers of my parents and the capital of confidence, until now I have become a permanent employee and oversee 20 marketing, “explained Rafi.

Rafi’s presentation ended with a closing statement and a question and answer session.

“Why is the lion be the king of the jungle? Even though the elephant is bigger and the cheetah is more agile. It’s because of the lion’s mentality. Don’t judge yourself by saying it’s not my passion. Just do it first,” Rafi concluded.
