FKIP – HMP Grafitasi Physics Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a National Science Week 2021 webinar with the theme “Optimizing the Role of Indonesian Students in Efforts to Improve Human Resources through Post-Pandemic Science and Technology” on Sunday (3/10/2021). The webinar which was held online via Zoom Meeting was attended and opened by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana.

In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana said that this webinar activity is very in line with the current problems, so it is expected to be able to improve the ability of participants to utilize technology.

“I think this activity is very contextual with current problems, we are trying to improve superior human resources and utilize information technology both during the pandemic and post-pandemic,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yuniar Ponco Prananto, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the first speaker, discussed the changes in technology from time to time and what people can do to face the future. Because times will always change, what was previously unnoticed must now be considered, what was once ignored must now be prioritized.

“We too will change, our perspective, our way of thinking, the way we respond to others will change as we age,” he explained.

About the world of campus, according to Yanuar, there is a pattern that students need to pay attention to, namely that information is not only obtained from lecturers or classes. Students must always develop their enthusiasm through continuous activities, take advantage of opportunities to broaden perspectives and networks, keep moving forward, and get out of their comfort zone.

Furthermore, Yuniar said that it is necessary to have an attitude that is easy to adapt to any changes that occur. According to him, four things can be done to prepare for the future, namely opening minds, strengthening hard skills and soft skills, being adaptive and focusing on solutions, and maintaining a balance of life such as physical health, mental well-being, and maintaining faith.

“If we don’t identify, if we don’t want to prepare ourselves then gradually we will be replaced,” he explained.

Furthermore, Reza Aulia Akbar, ST as the second speaker said that society 5.0 is a solution to the outstanding issue if in the industrial era 4.0 human abilities will be replaced with robots.

Society 5.0 is a community concept initiated by Japan about synergizing humans and technology. Therefore, of course, people must be able to adapt so that their abilities cannot be replaced by robots.

“So he (Society 5.0) marries humans and technology, so there is no more competition, 4.0 which was supposed to be replaced by robots, 5.0 removes it and synergies,” said the CEO & Founder of Science Hunter Indonesia.
