FKIP – Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Unit of Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a MBKM Socialization entitled “UNS Builds a Village” through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application on Monday (26/7/2021).
The activity moderated by Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd. as the UNS MBKM Coordinator to Build this Village, presented by two speakers, namely Dr. Tri Murwaningsih, M.Si as the Head of the MBKM FKIP UNS Unit and Prof. Dr. Leo Agung S., M.Pd. as the head of UP2KT FKIP UNS. The socialization activity was opened by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si as the Dean of FKIP UNS. In his speech, he said that the existence of the MBKM FKIP UNS unit was quite potent.
“The existence of this potential MBKM FKIP UNS unit is expected to be able to develop new ideas in solving various Study Program problems related to the MBKM program at FKIP UNS,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.
The first presentation of the material was delivered by Dr. Tri Murwaningsih, M.Sc. regarding the UNS MBKM program to Build Villages.
“The UNS Program to Build a Village is actually motivated by a change in the second Main Performance Indicator (KPI), where currently the indicator states that the percentage of active students who take a minimum of 20 credits off-campus. We feel that the UNS Village Development program has a major role in leading to the achievement of the KPI. On the other hand, the creation of this program is also due to a contract with the Ministry of Education and Technology which states that 30-35% of graduate students at UNS must have followed the MBKM 20 credits, “explained Dr. Tri.
Furthermore, the second material was delivered by Prof. Dr. Leo Agung S., M.Pd. as the head of UP2KT FKIP UNS. In his presentation, Prof. Leo emphasized the importance of Introduction to School Fields (PLP) as a fixed price and the inviolable spirit of FKIP.
“The PLP program at FKIP is a fixed price for education that cannot be replaced. Departing from the confusion of students who repeatedly ran to the UP2KT team who asked about the PLP which coincided with KKN, the UP2KT team finally found a common ground, that FKIP Study Program students still prioritized the implementation of PLP first, while the KKN program could follow. This means that where students are placed for PLP, students can also carry out UNS Village Development activities simultaneously,” he explained.
After the presentation of the material by the two resource persons, the activity was followed by a question and answer session in two terms with five questioners in each term. The socialization activity ended with a closing statement from the Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS. He emphasized that the Faculties and Study Programs should be able to continuously facilitate and encourage students to exercise their rights to study outside the Study Program. This is done in order to increase and enrich the achievements of graduates (CPL) in accordance with the plans of each student.
