“There is one thing we need to know together that there are three important government commitments as stated in the Strategic Education Ministry of Culture in Government Regulation Number 22 of 2020. The performance of lecturers, students, and academics is measured by the eight main performance indicators listed in the Ministry Decree Number 754. Thus, the PBSI Public Lecture which brings practitioners from the industrial world and the business world is the right answer for that,” explained Prof. Slamet.

Moderated by Chafit Ulya, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a PBSI FKIP UNS Lecturer, the activity continued with the presentation of material by the resource person. The public lecture presented speakers who were practitioners in the fields of journalism, broadcasting, and editing.
The first presentation the material was delivered by Krisna Sumargo as Tribunnews Senior Journalist and Tribune Network Ombudsman. Krisna explained material about the transformation of the Tribune Network, starting from the products of the Tribun Network, the Tribune Network Milestone, to journalism at the Tribune. He explained that the transfer of vehicles in the Tribun Network industry occurred due to the declining trend of print media consumption due to the development of information technology.
“There has been a transformation in the industry and the way we cultivate our business base. After years of working in the print industry, we are currently focusing on shifting our capabilities, resources, and experience to enter the digital world fully. The digitalization of our business is due to the trend of declining consumption of the print media industry in the 2010s and the demand to keep up with developments in technology and information,” explained Krisna.
The second presentation was by Sara Neyrbiza as CEO of speaking.id. Sara explained material about reactions due to fear of speaking in public, various types of communication in the broadcasting world, to career opportunities for people who have public speaking skills. He also explained that communication is not just talking, but full of challenges to learn.
“Communication takes various forms. There is didactic communication. In the broadcasting world, didactic communication is communication with other people, either with colleagues or sources. There is also group communication and mass media communication. So, communication is not just talking, but communication is full of challenges that need to be learned,” explained Sara.
The activity was continued by the last speaker, Ivan Lanin, who is the Director of Narrators. Ivan describes the career path in his life. In addition, he also explained the vision, mission, products, and processes of speakers as well as the opportunities of the language industry and the role of editors.
“Editors are people who are in the middle. So, they are people who play a role in connecting writers and readers. Editors are in charge of editing the substance and language in the draft manuscript before it becomes the final manuscript for publication,” concluded Ivan
