FKIP — The Chemistry Education Student Association (HMP Kovalen) Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a blood donation activity in Building D FKIP UNS on Friday (18/11/2022). The aim of this activity is to awaken humanity, care, and solidarity among FKIP Chemistry Education Study Program students and UNS academics towards others, as well as assist the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in finding donors.

In its implementation, this activity collaborates with PMI Surakarta to help carry out blood donation activities. This activity invited FKIP UNS students, FKIP UNS staff, FKIP UNS lecturers, and the general public who met the requirements to donate blood.

Aisyah Ananda Rahmawati as the chief executive, explained that this activity took the theme “Heal The World With Your Blood” which means a hope to care for and love one another among human beings.

“The theme we take has the hope that by holding this activity, the attitude of caring and mutual love between people in the community will increase, and with a drop of blood that we donate can change many lives out there,” she explained.

Aisyah said that this activity received a good response, as evidenced by the number of donors that exceeded the expected target. The initial target was 30 blood donors, while the participants who attended were 38 blood donors.

“Alhamdulillah, the FKIP UNS people responded very well. It was proven that at the time of registration, the number of potential donors who registered exceeded the target that the committee had hoped for. Not infrequently, the donors who attended came from outside FKIP UNS, and even UNS staff also became part of the world’s superheroes by participating in blood donors,” she said.

Aisyah hopes that carrying out this blood donation activity can awaken a spirit of humanity, solidarity, and helping others.

“Our hope is, of course, not much different from the goal we want to achieve, which is to awaken humanity, solidarity, and help others to bring smiles back into their lives,” she hoped.
