FKIP – Doctoral Study Program (S-3) Indonesian Language Education (PBI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta again held an Open Doctoral Promotion Session with promovendus Chafit Ulya, S.Pd., M.Pd . on Tuesday (21/2/2023). The open exam was held in the Hall of Building G FKIP UNS.
In this open exam, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. as the Dean of FKIP UNS, is the chairman of the board of examiners. Meanwhile, the examiner’s secretary is Prof. Dr. Andayani, M.Pd. In addition, being part of the testing team, Prof. Dr. Sarwiji Suwandi, M.Pd. as the promoter, Prof. Dr. Joko Nurkamto, M.Pd. as the co-promoter I, Dr. Kundharu Saddono, M.Hum. as the co-promoter II, Dr. Sumarwati, M.Pd. as the internal expert examiner and Prof. Dr. KRT. H. Sujito, S.A.P., S.H., M.Pd. as the external expert examiner.
Promovendus Chafit is pursuing research in literacy entrepreneurship by presenting his dissertation entitled “Increasing Literacy Entrepreneurial Competence Through Edu-Technopreneurship (Action Research in the Indonesian Language Education Study Program FKIP UNS)”. The background of this research is the low literacy-entrepreneurial competence of PBI students in an era where there is a change in the educational paradigm from job seekers to job creators.
In his research, he found that mentoring from professional practitioners significantly influences increasing students’ self-confidence and courage in entrepreneurship. In addition, he also found findings that the competency model has a significant contribution to improving student competence and motivation in entrepreneurship.
At the end of open doctoral promotion session, Promovendus Chafit was declared to have graduated with honors or cum laude. With this statement, he officially holds a doctorate.
“That based on the assessment of the board of examiners and based on your performance so far, you are declared to have graduated with honors and with a GPA of 3.90. Brother Chafit Ulya is the 93rd doctorate from the Indonesian Language Education S-3 Study Program and the 216th doctorate graduated from FKIP. On behalf of myself and the institution, I congratulate Dr. Chafit Ulya, M.Pd. for the success achieved. Hopefully, the knowledge gained will be blessed and can be utilized by the community,” said Dr. Mardiyana as the chairman of the board of examiners in this doctoral promotion open exam.
