FKIP – The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a national webinar entitled “Strategy for Planting National Values ​​to Form Unity and Unity”. In collaboration with the Center for the Study of Radicalism and Terrorism of the Education Quality Assurance and Development Institute (LPPMP) UNS Surakarta, this webinar was held online on Friday (11/19/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application.

Moderated by Caecelia Novi and Difa Hasna Soebroto as students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS, the activity began with giving directions by Dr. Drs. Hassan Suryono, S.H., M.H., M.Pd. as the Head of the Center for Radicalism and Terrorism Studies at LPPMP UNS Surakarta. Then, the event continued with the presentation of material by the speakers.

The first speaker was Zaky Farid Luthfi, S.Pd., M.Pd. He is a lecturer at Padang State University (UNP). He presented the material entitled “National Insights for a Better Indonesia”. In his presentation, he explained about two aspects of nationalism as the key to tolerance and nationalism.

“As the key to tolerance and nationalism, national insight has two aspects. The first aspect, national insight will be the key to common views and unifying the goals of present and future generations in facing the challenges of the Indonesian nation both from within and from outside. The second aspect, insight Nationalism is the key to strengthening the diversity of tolerance and nationalism in the midst of the challenges of disruption and globalization of civilization,” explained Farid.

The second speaker was Dewi Diharjo. She is a student of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS. She presented the material entitled “Efforts to Prevent Acts of Radicalism and Terrorism in Indonesia through the Implementation of Pancasila Values”. She explained that by implementing the values ​​of Pancasila, it would encourage the surrounding environment to follow good habits in accordance with these values

“To eradicate and prevent terrorism and radicalism, it is necessary to start from the smallest scope, namely ourselves and then step into the surrounding environment. If we are able to implement the values ​​of Pancasila properly and correctly, then other people will tend to follow the good habits that we do,” Dewi explained.

The third speaker was Ahmad Najihil Abid. He is also a student of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS. He explained the material entitled “Instilling Pancasila Ideological Values ​​and Diversity in Strengthening Unity and Unity”. In his presentation, he explained that the next generation of the nation must be committed to the spirit of unity and integrity.

“Unity is very important for a country that wants to live in prosperity. Unity and unity will also create good cooperation with other countries. As the next generation of the nation, it is very important to be committed to the spirit of unity and integrity in the context of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution and with the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,” explained Ahmad.

The fourth speaker was Anisa Tri Banowati. She is a student of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS. She presented a material entitled “Fighting Radicalism and Terrorism to Maintain Harmony and Rebuild Indonesia”. In her presentation, she explained about four efforts that can be made to fight terrorism radicalism.

“There are four efforts that can be made to fight terrorism radicalism in ourselves, namely fostering an attitude of nationalism, carefully using social media, choosing news with clear sources, and strengthening faith,” explained Anisa.
